LLOYD MUFUDZI

Lloyd MafudzinewI was born Tichaona Lloyd in Harare, Zimbabwe. I attended Munyaradzi primary school in Buhera and then moved to “City of Kings” Bulawayo for my secondary education at Hamilton Boys High. After school I trained as a mechanic but did not finish my studies as the African bush was calling. I did my learner hunter guides licence in 1997 and started to work at Hwange Safaris, Jwapi Lodge where I guided for 3 years. After my first stint in the bush I decided to leave the bush and went to work at the Central Bank of Zimbabwe in 2001 for 10 years. The bush called again and after taking a package from the bank I started with overlanding tour to Kariba and Mana Pools. In 2013 I moved to Inyati eco Game Park and worked as a guide and sales & marketing executive. In 2013 I decided to move south of the Limpopo River and joined Sunway safaris, with a rich diversity of tours that Sunway offers I find myself at peace where I am and enjoy every aspect of guiding through Southern Africa.

I enjoy tracking, storytelling and meeting different people from across the globe. In my free time I enjoy watching football (Arsenal my favourite), keeping up with automobile technology and fixing cars.

Zimbabwe Botswana Game Tracker "I would like to say thank you to Sunway, especially to the guides Lloyd & Brian for this amazing & unforgettable trip! These professional and experienced guides made our safari just memorable with their unbelievable knowledge about nature, wildlife, culture, history and personal experiences. Besides they cooked so delicious and briefed us every day with all the details we need to know. Our 2 guides made everything possible for us! They made us feel like travelling with a big family, they have cared a lot and they have made us always feel safe. It was so fascinating to see with how much motivation, engagement and passion they do their jobs - it’s not only a job, it’s a lifestyle they live. Even after long days, they were still in a good mood and had a joke in store. Don’t forget: „It’s not a sleeping safari!“
Thank you so much to be part of your Africa and for sharing so much information from your lives, I will never forget this incredible adventure! You made this journey really special for us! You two are a guiding dream team, you did such a great job! I am also sure, it wasn‘t my last time in Southern Africa. I am looking forward to come back!" - Nadine, Germany.

Zimbabwe Botswana Game Tracker "I wish to congratulate Sunway Safaris on the wonderful experience they provided on my recent safari. In particular, a special thank-you to our head guide, Lloyd, whose professionalism, knowledge and expertise was truly amazing! As a solo traveller from Australia, I found Lloyd’s kind and gentle demeanor extremely comforting. Our small group was an “interesting mixture of cultures”, sometimes providing challenges for Lloyd and Bonnie. We were cared for in a thoroughly professional manner, never feeling unsafe, threatened or abandoned. Accommodation, meals and game drives were excellent. I would certainly recommend Sunway Safaris to my family and friends." - Kate, Australia.

Zimbabwe Botswana Game Tracker " Dear Sunway Safaris team, I would like to thank for an excellent holiday I had with Sunway Safaris. I joined accomodated tour ZIMBABWE & BOTSWANA GAME TRACKER in October 2018 with an international group of people. Everything was well organized and prepared. Amazing program with good balance between activities and free time to relax. A big thanks belongs to our excellent guides Lloyd and Chris. They were very professional, experienced and knowledgeable keeping whole group in good moode and making safari experience unique for each of us. They always kept us informed what is going to be in next day, what we can expect and what is needed to prepare. They provided us with all information about the nature, animals, country, culture… and always ready to answer any question. All the provided meals were just amazing." - Eva, Czech Republic

Botswana Wild Parks: “We joined the BTa14 Botswana Wildparks tour in May 2018. We bypassed the rhino sanctuary and joined the tour in Maun.

The tour was well organized and well run – everything was as per itinerary. We had excellent guides along the way – Lloyd, Maxwell and Moses were very knowledgeable, efficient and easy to get on with. The accommodation was mostly very good, the Hyena Pan Lodge being the highlight. Watching the elephants coming down to drink just across the lake was something else - particularly when one or two decided they preferred the water in the swimming pool just next to reception! From the point of view of wildlife viewing, bird watching and the overall experience, the tour exceeded our expectations by far. We felt privileged to see so many animals close up in their natural habitat, not just in the Moremi and Chobe Parks but just driving through the countryside or at the lodges. And the experience of camping in the depths of the Okavango Delta and the walking safaris there were unforgettable. Our guide, Lloyd, cooked up amazing meals for us on a gas stove – he even conjured up marshmallows to toast on the camp fire! It is clear that the government and people of Botswana respect and care for their environment. As one of the guides said, “The animals were here first, we have to learn to live with them.” For a short time, we were fortunate enough to be part of this wonderful country." Joy, Uk

Walking South Africa: "Lloyd and Adolf are excellent guides! Very well prepared, excellent communication skills, excellent chefs and they made us feel safe every second" Fernanda Dias, Switzerland

Walking South Africa: "Special thanks to Llyod who was a very professionand relaxed guide" - Anonymous, Germany

Botswana Wild Side "I would like to thank again the Sunways-Team for creating this amazing BT14-Trip, that I will memorize for a very long time.

It was our first trip to Africa and I am sure, it was not the last. A special thanks goes to senior guide Lloyd, who leaded us through the tour with his phenomenal knowledge of the nature of the parks." - Martin, Germany
