Patrick one of our German speaking guides tells us more about this wonderful experience that occasionally happens on the 17 day accommodated South Africa Rainbow Route SAa17.
On our last South Africa Rainbow trip we had amazing sightings of whales during our stay at the Wild Coast in the Eastern Cape Province. Sometimes we are lucky enough, especially during the whale season, to be able to see whales from the coast. This was such a time.
On our walk from Kei Mouth to Morgan Bay we had a beautiful easy hike with plenty of flowers and amazing photo opportunities of the area. Half way through the walk we had a glimpse of whales spraying, giving us a hint on where to look for them.
After about 10 minutes of watching and scanning the horizon we finally saw some whales far away from the shore. But this was a good sign, as our trip leads us to Hermanus, the whale watching capital of South Africa. On our last part of the hike just before the beach of Morgan bay we had the luck of seeing a big school of dolphins.
